This year, Jonathan Wainwright, last seen in “Of Mice and Men” and “The Good Father,” in which he dazzled us with his acting prowess, has been awarded the role. His sensitivity made us feel the beauty of his transformation from a bitter, crusty curmudgeon to a kind, empathetic human being. Despite Wainwright’s relative youth, he met the challenge and mastered the role.
